Acacia was started in 2014 to help meet the mental health needs of the college student population. The company provides services that are easily accessible, focused on college student needs, culturally competent, and welcoming and supportive to all. Acacia currently has 7 brick and mortar clinics (6 in California and 1 in Minnesota) and a growing telehealth branch. Due to the acute need for mental health services, Acacia is on a mission to continue its growth and treat over 250,000 students within 10 years.

Mental health treatment in the United States is a critically underemphasized aspect of overall healthcare. College students, in particular, are more likely to need the help of mental healthcare professionals due to the high degrees of stress and life-changing transition that they are experiencing. Acacia’s core mission to better serve this population led to treatment of over 2,700 college students across 13,000 sessions in 2019. The company widened access by opening three new mental health clinics, including those in La Jolla, Irvine, and Santa Cruz. Acacia also implemented a new internal “Traction EOS Management System” that will help foster and support go-forward growth. After experiencing 3-year growth of 890% through 2018, Acacia again doubled its revenue in 2019 to $4.2m.
