Mason is a serial entrepreneur and self described “local and organic evangelist.” After graduating from from The University of Texas in 2001, Mason began his entrepreneurial journey and founded several companies with sustainability at the core. Prior successes include EarthAction Landscaping, an environmentally-responsible land care company, which Mason grew for 2 years before exiting; Greenling.com, the first and largest Local/Organic grocery delivery service in Texas serving all major metros; and Cece’s Veggie Co, his current venture and first pure CPG company.
As a professional that realizes the importance of advancing issues through both business and other avenues, Mason drafted and helped pass legislation in 2007 that created the Organic Advisory Board to the Texas Department of Agriculture. In 2008, Mason formed the Organic Association of Texas, a legislative action and lobbying group for the Organic industry in Texas. He was also crowned “Eco Leader of the Year” by the Austin Business Journal in 2010. Further, Mason helped bring the Slow Money movement to Austin and formed Slow Money Austin, an organization trying to facilitate the flow of capital to local food systems.
Over the course of his career, Mason and his businesses have been recognized in 30+ different awards. His most recent recognition included Cece’s Veggie Co. being ranked the 3rd fastest growing private company in the United States by Inc., with 3-year growth of an astronomical 23,880%.
