Richard’s career has certainly followed a non-traditional path. He began as an apprentice at a tool & die maker at 16. After completing his apprenticeship, he identified a desire to go back to school to further his education. He eventually earned a degree in Engineering and Computer Science and later an MBA. His educational path sparked not only an interest in software, but also unlocked his now alive and well entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2015, Freightwise, a supplychain cost management software solution, was founded. Richard was a key member of the founding team and deployed his expertise in technology and management to get the new business off the ground. In just three years, Freightwise has collected a growing list of accomplishments. These include: booking $33m in revenue in 2018, achieving a near 31,000% growth rate, earning the 2nd fastest growing private company in America designation from Inc., and amassing an impressive list of clients that features Facebook among others. Most impressive of all, Freightwise has achieved all of these things without raising a single dollar from traditional VCs, instead opting to bootstrap the business. 

Today, Freightwise is considered one of the leading solutions for transportation cost management for small and mid-sized companies. They are even beginning to break into the enterprise market as well.
